Velvet Old Fashioned 200ml 32% ABV
The Velvet Old Fashioned is as smooth as the name suggests. The addition of the Pedro Ximenez, a dark, intensely sweet, dessert sherry gives a taste of raisins and molasses to the cocktail.
I particularly like the combination, we put around 1 part in 10 Pedro Ximenez to our Old Chapter Whisky and this combination, together with Orange Angostura and standard Angostura bitters, delivers a smooth, flavourful taste and a very delicious mouth-feel.
With the addition of the Fat Adam's Old Chapter Whisky to our range, I experimented with using Old Chapter instead of bourbon and it really worked wonderfully. My whisky is aged for 9 years in Jack Daniels barrels and this aged brings a much sweeter, softer expression, giving my whisky a bourbon sweetness yet losing none of the depth.
Fat Adam's Velvet Old Fashioned, now improved and reimagined, better than ever before. A warming, soothing concoction, perfect for the winter and festive season!
This should be served with a large ice cube, with a couple of Fabbri Amarena Cherries to garnish.
If you have a sore throat, warming this one gently and sipping like a hot toddy works wonder too!
