The Naval Old Fashioned pays tribute to the seafaring spirit of the Royal Navy, where sailors received a daily ration of rum from 1655 until Black Tot Day in 1970. Rum, believed to have originated in Brazil before finding its Caribbean home, is the foundation of this smooth and spicy creation.

The Story Behind the Almond Old Fashioned
This delightful twist came to life during the legendary Barbecue Wars of 2017. It was a heady summer filled with slow-smoked ribs, fiery debates, and cocktails flowing as six friends competed for barbecue supremacy. With my Kamado Joe BBQ and mixology skills, I had an edge—but it was an accidental creation that sealed the victory.
In the final round, I prepared my Classic Old Fashioned as the cocktail of the day. Amid the chaos, a request for Amaretto led me to pour a measure that, distractedly, I later mistook for bourbon. Realizing my mistake mid-preparation, I almost started over—then thought, why not?
The result? Magic. The Almond Old Fashioned was born. Its rich, nutty sweetness paired with the depth of Fat Adam’s 9-year Old Chapter Whisky—aged in Buffalo Trace barrels—was an instant hit. I served it to the crew, and let’s just say it might have tipped the scales in my favour to win the inaugural King of Barbecue Wars title.

This Old Fashioned combines whisky with a measure of Disaronno Amaretto for a bold, smooth, and uniquely satisfying twist on the classic. It’s now one of our most popular cocktails, beloved for its unexpected depth and sweetness.

Our Espresso Martini is a bold twist on the classic, made with Tia Maria, Kahlua, Fat Adam’s Vodka, and artisan espresso coffee—each serving includes a full shot of espresso. Both Tia Maria and Kahlua feature in this edition, creating a rich, layered flavour.
This cocktail demands energy: shake it with passion! The vigorous shake is essential to aerate the drink, creating that signature silky froth. Without it, the drink won’t shine as it should. And remember: definitely shaken, not stirred.
A Cocktail with a Story
The Espresso Martini—though not a true martini (no gin or vermouth)—is an undeniable classic. Also known as the Vodka Espresso, I first encountered it in New York.
On my first trip to the city, I dined at a swanky restaurant—swanky being the perfect word for it. Trying to impress my older, more sophisticated companions, I channeled my inner James Bond and ordered a Dry Martini, shaken, not stirred.
"Would you like a large one, sir?" the waiter asked, likely amused by my forced confidence. Naturally, I said yes.
The result? A towering glass of potent cocktail. One gulp and—well, let’s just say it floored me. The martini was my introduction to hang under, and the night became a blur.
Later in the evening, my friend handed me a drink. “Try this, old chap,” he said. Cool, creamy, tangy, and invigorating—it was my first Vodka Espresso, now universally celebrated as the Espresso Martini. It would not be my last.
