Did you know the word cocktail first appeared in 1803? While its exact origins remain a mystery, the earliest cocktail was a simple yet elegant combination of spirit, sugar, water, and bitters—much like an Old Fashioned.
At Fat Adam’s, we’ve reimagined pre-mixed cocktails, driven by a mission to deliver exceptional quality with purpose. Too often, pre-mixed options on the market disappoint, offering watered-down spirits and average ingredients. Drawing inspiration from the success of our artisan gelato at Fat Adam’s Ice Cream, I decided to share my own cherished cocktail recipes. After years of crafting drinks professionally and for loved ones, it felt like the perfect time to launch our own range—especially since it allowed us to support a cause close to my heart: The Anti-Bullying Alliance.
We call our creations Kind Cocktails because they’re designed not just to delight but to champion kindness and raise awareness for a crucial cause.
A Personal Journey to Kindness
The name Fat Adam’s comes from a deeply personal place. Growing up, I experienced bullying first hand, including being fat-shamed and labeled "Fat Adam." These words and actions weren’t trivial—they were hurtful, leaving a lasting impact on my self-esteem. Unfortunately, such cruelty isn’t limited to childhood. Adults and institutions can also perpetuate harm, sometimes unconsciously. For example, in 2019, Cancer Research's campaign leaned on harmful stereotypes around obesity.
Bullying touches every aspect of life. My daughter, Bianca, endured bullying for her red hair, and public figures like Gareth Gates have faced ridicule for stuttering. These experiences reflect a broader problem of prejudice—whether it’s hair colour, weight, or even anti-semitic stereotypes about physical traits or behaviours.
Launching our gelato brand at www.fatadams.com and our cocktail range here at www.fatadams.co.uk, I aimed to spark meaningful conversations, promote acceptance, and challenge bullying in all its forms.
Cocktails with a Cause
Ironically, research shows that victims of bullying are more likely to misuse alcohol. At Fat Adam’s, we hope to change that narrative. Our cocktails—strong, rich, and crafted for savouring—encourage mindful, moderate enjoyment. Whether it’s our Old Fashioned, Negroni, or any of our creations, each drink is a reminder to slow down, sip responsibly, and reflect on kindness.

We proudly call them artisan cocktails, made in small batches with only the finest spirits. We even provide before and after images, so you can trace the origin and craftsmanship of what you’re drinking.

To enhance your experience, we recommend using a giant ice cube tray—easily accessible and affordable—and keeping an orange on hand for garnish (except for our Espresso Martini, which pairs best with a few coffee beans).
