Fat Adam’s Boulevardier Negroni: A Negroni with a Whisky Twist

The Boulevardier Negroni swaps gin for whisky, creating a cocktail that’s rich and warming rather than crisp and bracing—perfect for winter evenings.

This classic cocktail first appeared in Barflies & Cocktails (1927) and is attributed to Erskine Gwynne, a regular at Harry’s Bar in New York, who named it after his magazine, The Boulevardier. Traditionally made with bourbon, I prefer the deeper, smoother flavor of Fat Adam's Old Chapter Whisky. Aged for 9 years in Buffalo Trace barrels, it balances sweetness and depth, sitting halfway between whisky and bourbon in character.

Blended with Campari, red vermouth, and a touch of my orange bitters mix, this Boulevardier delivers a perfectly balanced and exceptionally smooth drinking experience.

The Boulevardier Experience:
The term boulevardier describes a Parisian “man-about-town,” and with this cocktail, you can channel that sophistication any time.

Serving Suggestions:
Serve over a large ice cube, garnished with an orange twist, and take your time savouring the blend of sweet, bitter, and complex flavours.

Like all Fat Adam’s cocktails, our Boulevardier Negroni is bar-strength and never watered down, ensuring the most authentic taste.

Available in 500ml and 200ml bottles—rich, smooth, and ready to enjoy.
